How to Book Your Holiday Accommodation

A telephone call or email to Private Properties Booking Agency is the quickest and most efficient means of ascertaining availability of your first and second choice holiday homes and dates required.

Our reservation staff are ready for your enquiries between 9am and 5pm weekdays.

Unfortunately we are closed on Public Holidays. As we are unable to take a telephone booking we recommend you send your completed form and deposit as quickly as possible and we will confirm your booking with a receipt.

Tentative bookings can be held for a maximum of 5 days.

INTERNATIONAL BOOKINGS

PPBA welcomes guests from interstate and overseas. Should international guests wish to make a reservation prior to arrival in Western Australia they should Contact us at mail@privateprop.com or fill in your details on the "Contact Us" page and we will send a booking form to you immediately. Then post the booking form to the above address together with either:

  1. a bank draft made out in Australian dollars and made payable to PPBA
    or
  2. Visa / Mastercard / AMEX details. If time is short we suggest you send the booking form and your credit card details to us by facsimile.

  3. Electronic bank transfer.
PAYING FOR YOUR HOLIDAY
  1. If you are making your booking more than 6 weeks prior to the date of commencement of the holiday, one third of the total tariff is required to confirm your booking. The balance is due exactly 6 weeks prior to your holiday.
  2. If you are making your booking within 6 weeks of the date of commencement of the holiday, the full tariff is required to confirm the booking.
  3. If you are not paying by credit card you will need to provide us with valid credit card details in lieu of a bond or $1000.00 cash deposit. This is refundable within 2 business days of guest checkout.

All payments can be made by cheque, Bank Cheque, Visa, Mastercard or AMEX.

The majority of the properties listed on our website are booked exclusively and directly through Private Properties Booking Agency. In cases where the properties are more remote, such as Broome, Bali, South Africa or New Zealand, clients should call the caretakers / owners direct for information and arrangements. We do not take the booking. The phone numbers are provided with the listing. Tariffs for all properties are listed here.

TARIFF PEROIDS AND MINIMUM STAYS

Please note that depending on the tariff period there is minimum number of nights stay at the properties. This is details as follows:

Peak: Minimum stay is 7 nights except for Easter when the minimum stay is 4 nights
Summer School holidays over December and January and the Easter 4 day break. Peak begins mid December.
Mid Period: Minimum stay is 4 nights
All other school holidays and to the shoulder months of February, March, April and October to mid December.
Off Peak: Minimum stay is 3 nights where indicated above
The winter school terms.
Long Weekends:  Minimum stay is 4 nights


Note:
The peak and off peak periods for Broome and other destinations differ from the normal peak and off peak times
CANCELLATIONS

Important Notice: Once your booking has been confirmed and receipted by PPBA your deposit is nonrefundable. If the booking is cancelled in writing more than 6 weeks from the date of commencement of your holiday you will be released from the liability for the full balance of hire. The deposit is nonrefundable.

If you give written notice of cancellation less than 6 weeks prior to the date of commencement of your holiday and we are successful in finding guests to fill your place at the holiday home you will be released from the liability for the full balance of hire. The deposit is nonrefundable.

We highly recommend that cancellation insurance is taken out to safeguard your investment in your holiday.

Additional Points of Interest

YOUR HOLIDAY

The Holiday Home you have booked will be ready for occupation after 3pm on the day of commencement of the holiday, as shown on your confirmation. It is vital that you contact the Caretaker of the property at least 5 days prior to your arrival in order to arrange a mutually acceptable time to meet and collect the keys. We would ask that you vacate your holiday home by 10.30am on the date of termination of your holiday unless prior arrangement has been made with the owner/caretaker and agreed to by Private Properties.

WEDDINGS AND PARTIES

Please note that due to regulations, our properties are available for accommodation purposes only, and any other use constitutes a breach in our contract with guests.

Local caretakers are vigilant, and have been instructed to close down any large unauthorized gathering of people at a property, and guests will be asked to vacate immediately.

POWER AND HEATING

Charges for these services are included in the tariffs quoted unless otherwise stated in the description of the property.

THE TELEPHONE

In many cases the telephone will be connected to the property however IDD and STD access are usually unavailable. In these cases long distance calls can be made into the property and we suggest that you ask our reservation staff for the phone number of the property. Long distance calls can be made reverse charge, using operator assistance. When IDD and STD services are accessible to guests, a reading will be taken as soon as possible and charged to the guests credit card. IDD and STD calls are charged at normal rates. A service charge of $50 will apply to your account.

BATHTOWELS AND LINEN

All houses will be provided with pillows, doonas, blankets, sheets and bath towels, bath mats and tea towels. Guests will need to supply their own beach towels in most cases.

PETS

We regret that we are unable to accommodate pets in any of our private homes.

CLEANING

Due to the limited time available to our cleaning staff we must insist that you leave the property clean and tidy at the end of your holiday. This condition is clearly stated under Special Conditions. In the event that the property is not left clean and tidy PPBA will bill the guest for the extra time required for Caretaker cleaning.

GROUP SIZE

Under no circumstances may the number of persons at the holiday home exceed the maximum number of persons as stated on the website and/or the number of guests as stated in the holiday confirmation.

CHANGES TO HOLIDAY BOOKINGS

Where possible, PPBA will accept certain changes to a booking after the booking has been confirmed with a deposit.

Changes such as moving from one property to another after the final payment has been made will only be possible under exceptional circumstances. In such cases an administration fee of $50 will be charged.
